It's not just a washing up liquid, it's a key ingredient to any child of the 80's making-stuff kit. It's that nostalgic feeling that has lead Fairy's clever people to re-launch the iconic white bottle for its 50th anniversary. Children all over the country can once again glue their fingers together whilst making rockets, telephones and any other pointless object that they can give to mum to proudly display on the mantelpiece.

Anyone still doubting the power of social media should take a look at the Facebook statuses of their friends and family yesterday. Ranging from "black", "blue" to the slightly more unusual "silver" and "red - don't judge me", the cryptic status updates of women across the world resulted in an air of smugness amongst the female population who were 'in' on the joke and confusion amongst the males, who weren't.
